Currently living in South Derbyshire, my interest in photography began after leaving school and joining the Merchant Navy as an Officer Cadet in 1963. After coming ashore in 1978 to take up an appointment as a Marine Superintendent, working in the Port of Liverpool, the decline in shipping through the 1980’s encouraged me to complete a degree in Computer Science & Information Technology. As a Microsoft Accredited Instructor and Network Manager with the City of Stoke-on-Trent Education Authority at the Brownhills Maths & Computing College, I retired in 2006. Having been fortunate enough to travel worldwide with my camera (and my wife) and throughout the U.K. in our motorhome, my photo gallery has some recent images showing the wonderful wild-life and scenery to be found not only near our home in Derbyshire, but across the UK and around the world in Iceland, Eastern Europe, East & South Africa, the West Coast of North America and the Rockie Mountains in Canada. I have written several books on wildlife and wildlife photography and am currently running a distance learning course in ICT and Website Design with the local residents at the Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge in the Tsavo National Park in Kenya East Africa.
